No need to draw out this intro on why a Caucasian kicker who’s got a checkered past with domestic violence gets to soften his fall from grace while other players of color get blackballed from the league, regardless of all the apologies they offer and the speeches they give across the country, showing how sorry they are for doing what they did…but it’s not a race thing though….
Wolverine has provided me a few questions to take down, so let me get to taking them down!
1st Question:
Who do you project will be (IRL) the MVP, Rookie of the Year, Offensive Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year for the NFL?
It’s very early in the season but I can speculate on these potential winners for you.
MVP: Tom Brady.
If the Patriots stay healthy, I can’t see anybody challenging them and we all know Tom is the main reason why they’re killing teams since his Deflategate suspension ended.
Rookie of the Year: Ezekiel Elliott
Abs-out McGee here has been out here balling. As long as he stays healthy and his LINE stays healthy, I can’t see him not winning this in a landslide.
Offensive Player of the Year: TOM BRADY
RESPECT THIS MAN!! AMERICA’S TRUE PATRIOT!
Defensive Player of the Year: Josh Norman
Considering how piss poor the Panthers secondary & defense look with him on a winning Washington squad, he should win it by default.
2nd Question:
We have seen one OC kicked to the curb within the first 6 games of the NFL season. Who do you feel will be the next coach/coordinator to get the pink slip?
Chuck Pagano or Todd Bowles. Pagano signed a lame duck extension that was more PR move than security for the man. He keeps losing? He GONE.
I see Bowles saying EFF IT at some point this season and running back to AZ next season to settle in under Bruce Arians’ wing again.
3rd Question:
Who is the most improved team in the NFL right now and how is the team destined to go down in a trash can fire?
Most improved team? Atlanta. This team had no toughness last season. A stiff breeze could’ve knocked 85% of this team over a year ago. But now? They’re much tougher and they’re not gonna take whatever guff the rest of the NFC South has to offer.
Trash fire? New York Jets. A lot has gone wrong there and I can see way more going wrong as time goes on. All I’ll say about the Jets is: they should’ve been ready with a backup for Fitz years ago. Develop somebody, overpay a young buck like Osweiler (at the time) or chased down another transition QB like Brian Hoyer or Josh McCown….Bryce Petty is going to start at some point this year and I do not think it will be pretty for the New York Jet fanbase.
Let me let my man Rich Eisen tell it (and this was from late September btw)
Bonus video from 2014 (a lot of which still holds true NOW):
4th Question:
BTFL Final Four Projections: Who and why?
I wish I could give you an answer on this one but I can’t right now.
I know it’s a cop-out but not too many of these rosters light my heart aflame right now.
The two game gap between 5th and 6th place is a hurdle that not many teams will be able to overcome…but there are teams in the top 5 that I think take a tumble…
Things might become clearer to me around Week 10 or so…
Alright everyone…
Those are all the questions for the moment. Hope you got some insight, some entertainment and some answers.
Commish Out.
