I agree with Shango on this being a potential franchise-killing situation.
The players openly questioned Bevell’s play call right after the game and if the players continue the question the coaches calls going forward, you can expect the Seahawks to lose a lot of what made them great the past couple of years.
They marched in one line together and whatever you saw on the field was an extension of the guys with the headsets and tracksuits on.
Now it’s looking shaky out there.
The organization has to show the players that they’re committed to keeping them on the right path and not making this a coronation of Russell Wilson as new lord and host. Yes, he deserves a raise but he’s still one of 53 on that team. He’s more important than some but not bigger than the sum of the parts. Try to keep it all in perspective and let’s not blow the entire salary cap stack on one man.
They’ve got to bring back Marshawn Lynch, however they can. Whatever the cost is, you got to bring him back.
Improve the team where the weaknesses lay exposed…:offensive line, tight end, sub package players on defense…
And make sure everybody’s on the same page the time new football season rolls around because Seattle will definitely have targets on their backs next season and they’ve lost another defensive coordinator and WILL lose free agents to other teams for well-deserved raises..
It will be an interesting, interesting offseason for Seattle
Trust me, I will have an eye on ALL of it.
ALL of it.
