(Looks like our new topic’s got some traction!)
Some questions have rolled in so let me put my corneas on these consonants and vowels!
Today’s question from Corporal Punishment from the BTFL league:
“One coach has already been fired for his teams poor performance (MIA). Which team will be the next to have a coach meet with the Bastard Executioner? Side question- what week will that coach’s head roll?”
Good question, CP!
Perusing the NFL standings right now, I see a few teams looking paltry with their poultry.
Jacksonville, Kansas City, Detroit and Baltimore are 1-5. Tennessee is 1-4. Some teams are trending downward like Cleveland, Washington, Seattle, Dallas, Oakland and even Buffalo (even with all the Rex Ryan hoopla surrounding Lake Erie)..
I know I have a few coach choices that I WANT to see catch the axe but my guess is Gus Bradley down in Jacksonville.
He’s a very good defensive co-ordinator and his team has some pretty good skill position players in Allen Robinson, Allen Hurns, Julius Thomas, TJ Yeldon and Blake Bortles. And his team every year has dealt with a plethora, a myriad and a bevy of injuries – the season ending kind, mostly – to key pieces on defense.
BUT….
If he goes over to London and gets trounced by a beat up Buffalo Bills team, Gus might be coming home to a pink slip and some severance pay. There’s only so many tough guy faces, hand claps and press conferences a team can do before they show some improvement. It’s been three years and the progress hasn’t been there in the win column.
Thanks for the question and keep em coming!
The Commish
Yoou think Shere Khan is actually going to do it?
Not sure he would considering the team hasn’t fallen flat on its face like the Dolphins did in the first 5 weeks but the media may jump on them during the bye week and Shere may make the move to calm other people down
