I’ll keep this one short.
If anyone saw the Monday Night debacle where his team LOST A 24-0 HALFTIME LEAD and LOST BY MORE THAN 10 POINTS AT HOME (!!!)…..this should be a foregone conclusion.
What you saw was an epic letdown….you saw a team without a killer instinct and a lack of fire to put a team away when up big. The good teams do it and San Diego was supposed to be a good team yet they didn’t do it…..SO I guess that means they aren’t a good team, even with all that firepower on offense and team speed on defense…..hmmm….
If you DIDN’T see San Diego wet the bed on Monday Night, here are a few factors against Ol Turkey Neck..
He inherits the team in 2007 and makes the playoffs in 3 consecutive years….HOORAY, right?
2007 they made it to the Conference Championship
2008 they made it to the Division Championship and this is the year I thought they’d turned a corner considering that OT WildCard win over the Colts is the type of game they NEVER win…
2009 they made it to the Wild Card game…
The entire time he’s been slowly losing talented players (Tomlinson, Sproles, Vincent Jackson, Lights Out!!, etc….) but he hasn’t lost them in such a way where the team’s stuck looking for answers….Free agents haven’t left in droves….A skilled player here, a skilled player there….The team should be able to overcome roster turnover. The NFL is like retail, turnover is high!
I think the San Diego Chargers got complacent. They got accustomed to winning records during the regular season and they got fat off of that. Norv read himself some press clippings, saw how much of a stud he was in the wack AFC West and coasted. Hey we had a late season run! We got into the playoffs! My job is saved! Us against the world! We’ve got talent!!
NOW the ish has hit the proverbial fan with Peyton Manning coming out there to be the new head honcho and Norv’s bad habits are getting exposed.
Toss in roster mis-management and shoddy play calling…..and you’ve got the MAIN reason why this guy has to go.
GET HIM OUTTA HERE!!!
