What a week, what a week!
A wild week of high scoring, blowouts and nailbiters, marred by terrible referee calls on nationally televised games.
Which was of course capped off by this fiasco in SEA/GB
but hey no matter if Stevie Wonder could’ve seen that MD Jennings caught the ball and Golden Tate didn’t….
wait….uhm….Stevie? I thought you said…no catch!!!
The ole ball coach takes his free win and that be that.
ONTO THE BREAKDOWN!!!
There were no close games this week @ all so there aren’t any heartbreakers to report.. Either you scored over 150+ points and won or you got housed. EasyBreesy came kinda close, scoring a buck 44 but Suicidde Kings got the W with ease.
So I’ll spend the early part of this gloating
The Full Force award for a major butt whooping goes to my opponent 18-1
My Shaolin technique was pretty good this week. Jamaal Charles had himself a DAY, busting out for a 40 spot, Stafford got me 44 before gimping off the field like some sort of lame horse and my receiving corps all put up double digits like it was easy peasy.
It’s fantasy football so I understand your boys had an off day. And there wasn’t much that you could do considering the bench gave you damn near nothing because they were either injured, demoted to 4th string or running up against the New England offense. But I’ve GOT to take advantage of my shots when I get them!! Cam laid down versus the Giants on national TV, Greg Jennings was less than 100 percent against that crazy Seattle secondary and Demaryius Thomas got locked down by that hellacious Texan defense. Toss in a craptastic showing from the Detroit defense and you’ve got yourself a big time loss.
Maybe next time, I’ll get to give you the Robin Harris award?
As for the rest of the matchups…
LXG (3RB/2TE) – 184 defeated Absolute Chaos (3WR/2RB/2TE) 116
LXG got production across the board. The AFC North continues to provide him with fantasy goodness as Browns, Steelers and Bengals alike got him major points. Brady got the lead out and got over 30, CJ Spiller had 13 pts before bowing out gracefully with a shoulder injury and his kicker got him some solid numbers via special teams.
Absolute had an interesting day. Solid produce from the Black Unicorn and Alex Smith’s favorite weapon. Michael Bush came and spelled Forte decently enough and that Arizona D put up 24 pts like it was easy. But Philip Rivers, Marques Colston and Frank Gore soiled the bed like babies with weak bladders and no pampers on…Damn shame…However…
Ben Roethlisberger put up 62 POINTS. 62!!!!! ON YOUR BENCH!!! WHAT?!?!? WHY WAS THAT MAN NOT IN THE STARTING LINEUP????
Suicide Kings (5WR) – 172 defeated EasyBreesyBeautiful (3RB/3WR) 144
Romo tried to give the game away for the Kings with a substandard effort versus the Bucs but the rest of the team picked up the slack. 23 from a defense is insane and the 5 wide brigade brought their numbers to the party, led by Megatron’s 32 points.
EasyBreesy did was she could with MJD and Nate Washington racking up the points but Drew Brees once again had a subpar week, and all of her other stars got double digits but just barely. In comparison to the competition, it wasn’t going to cut it. RG3 had another good day on the bench. Does he come in next week? Or does Brees get one more chance?
On 3..Ready Break (3RB/2TE) 167 defeated Curb Your Enthusiasm (5WR) 113
Good Joe Flacco got On 3 the win this week. He and Torrey Smith made it rain on them fools with a combined 78 pts. Mikel LeShoure’s 23, Arian’s 17 and Miles Austin’s 15 helped round out the scoring.
Curb had good days from Welker, Pitta and Andre Johnson but a subpar day from Aaron Rodgers and single digits from too many people in the starting lineup cost him the game.
X-Men (3RB/3WR) 154 defeated Dawg Pound Warriors (3RB/3WR) 91
Good Eli made an appearance versus Carolina….lighting up those helpless Cats in a tragic fashion. Fitzgerald is back from the dead and you got a solid overall effort from the team as a group. Kudos on getting 18 from your kicker.
DawgPound saw the writing on the wall ..His highest scoring player was Andre Brown and that wasn’t going to cut it this week. Gronk got a 4, Jordy got 3, VJax got 3…it wasn’t pretty. I can see why you bailed out on a kicker for that week because a kicker going into late Sunday or Monday night meant little against a 50-60 point lead. Will it cost you in the long run when points come into play late in the season?
Alright folks, week 3 in the book. Yes, the commish is still undefeated but it’s a long season ahead of us. We’ll see how things look @ the quarter mark. 6 teams with a 1-2 record! No one wants to be toward the back of the pack right now. If some of the teams ahead of them get on a roll, it might be hard as hell to make up the distance….Interesting tidbit for Week 4’s matchups. The rank 1 team plays the 10th ranked team, the 2nd plays the 9th , the 3rd plays the 8th….you get the idea. It could be a week where some separation takes place or we could all be bunched up within 2 games of each other….Let’s let the week unfold!
And with that, we reach the end of another blog post, full of wit, mirth and humorous tidbits. Let’s keep the competition fierce, the waiver wire pickups plentiful and the trade offers fair and equal, unless someone out there offers you a beaut that you just can’t pass up!
Until next week, folks!
