I’m not a Cowboys fan in the slightest. I think the idea of “America’s Team” is a load of trash and I feel that Jerry Jones has orchestrated this whole idea that the Dallas Cowboys should be the most popular team in the NFL without any of the championships….hell…even playoff victories!
But seeing the Cowboys lay down like that hurt my heart. As a fan of football. You have a chance to beat the New England Patriots, providing you a chance to move up in the NFC East and Jason Garrett gets gun-shy. Run plays? Up 3 points? NO, YOU THROW THE BALL WITH YOUR EXPLOSIVE PASS OFFENSE!
The Cowboys led 16-13 late in the 4th quarter and had just forced the Pats to punt. And instead of trying to get a 1st down or move the ball down the field in sort of positive fashion, the Cowboys ran the ball for 3 straight plays. THREE STRAIGHT RUN PLAYS!
And of course what happened when Tom Brady got the ball back?
This could’ve been avoided…if Jason Garrett stopped being the game manager he was as a backup to Troy Aikman, open up the playbook and sling the pigskin around! Plain and simple. It’s not that hard! You have the lead! You have the ball! Make the Patriots stop you! Don’t stop yourselves!
